Planned Giving

YMCA Planned Giving

What will your legacy be?

Legacy giving is one of the most powerful and meaningful forms of philanthropy. With a planned gift to the Valley Shore YMCA, a donor can transform the future wellbeing of our community, and continue to make a difference for generations to come. From Aquatics to Summer Camp, Afterschool to Adult Fitness, the Y opens the doors for everyone to thrive in our community regardless of income; and a transformational legacy gift can ensure that it continues year after year.

What is Planned Giving?

A planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of an individual’s overall financial and estate planning. These gifts could include equity, life insurance, real estate, personal property, or cash. A planned gift as part of an overall estate plan takes your needs as well as the needs of your loved ones into consideration, while helping support a cause or a charity that is personally meaningful to you. Depending on the type of planned gift, a donor could be exempt from capital gains or estate
taxes.

With a planned gift you can:

 Give a larger gift than you thought possible
 Take care of the financial needs of your family first
 Reduce your income tax
 Vary your investments
 Leave a legacy at the YMCA without giving up assets

Planting Seeds for the
Next Generation
YMCA member and longtime Community
Garden volunteer Richard Feil has given so much to the Valley Shore YMCA over the years. As the Y and its cause became closer to his heart, he decided to include us in hise estate planning, along with the help of his personal financial advisor.
