The Fall Shoreline Slimdown Challenge is a fun 8 week weight loss competition that combines exercise and nutrition counseling aimed at weight loss and overall healthy living. If you are looking for some motivation to achieve your own personal fitness goals, this may be the challenge for you!

PROGRAM
An 8 week individual weight loss challenge with a cash prize for the winner! Each week, participants will participate in at least two (2) physical activities. Classes, personal training, hiking, all count! The Y will provide weekly themes to help coach participants to maintain a healthy lifestyle along with various clinics and bonus activities. Participants will weigh each week to measure their on-going success!

DATES
The challenge kicks off on Monday, September 23rd with your first weigh in.

PRIZES
The top individual with the highest percentage of weight loss will be awarded a cash prize! Cash prize will be determined by the number of contestants that participate in the challenge.

DETAILS
Your first weigh in will include:

  • Measurements
  • Signature of Challenge agreement and exercise waiver (if under 18, mom or dad must sign)
  • A BMI measurement
  • Weekly Weigh Loss Support Meetings
  • In addition to nutritional tracking & advice, and Exercise Classes
  • Private Weigh-ins, Body Measurement and Body Fat Analysis
  • Community Facebook Group to share challenges and successes
  • Cash and Incentive Prizes
  • Proven Weight Loss & Tons of Support!
  • Personal Training is available for an additional fee
  • Participants can join the private Shoreline Slimdown Challenge Facebook group to share stories, workouts and successes with others in the program.

WEIGH-INS & BODY FAT PERCENTAGE

  • Your individual body weight or full name will never be shared!
  • Participants must weigh in wearing only shorts/yoga pants and a T-Shirt. No jackets, coats, sweatshirts, sweatpants etc.
  • If you are away any particular week during the challenge, notify Ellen ahead of time and your weigh in, group classes or personal training for that week will be excused.
  • The first official weigh in must be on Monday, September 23rd
  • Each weekly weigh in must be done in the Wellness Center during one of these times:
    Mondays 5:00 to 6:00pm, Fridays 7:00 to 7:30am and Saturdays 8:00 to 9:00am

FEES

  • The cost is $85 for YMCA members, $185 for non-members.
  • Entry fee is non-refundable

REGISTRATION
You can register in person at the Valley Shore YMCA or online.

  • Please do not register for the challenge if you cannot commit to your weekly exercise program twice a week.
