We know that staying fit and active is our best way to build a strong immune system and stay healthy.

Even though our facility is closed due to the Coronavirus, we want to help our members stay active and healthy. We have been working hard to provide our members with a variety of workouts that you can at home!

Make Apple Muffins

Make Shamrock Shakes as a special treat. 
You won’t taste the spinach. 
This recipe makes about 2.5 cups. Blend in a blender the following:  
3 cups loosely but firmly packed baby spinach (about 2 ounces)
1/2 cup non-fat milk
3/16 teaspoon mint extract (not peppermint – see note)
2 cups of your favorite reduced-fat vanilla ice cream or regular frozen yogurt

Start with 10 of each exercise, then 9, then 8 until you get to 1. If you feel super motivated do it again working up from 1.  
10 Elbow to Knee (per side)
10 Side Lunges (per side)
10 Squat Jumps
10 Reverse Lunges per side
10 Push Ups
10 Jumping Jacks
10 Jump Rope
10 Slow Bicycle (per Side)
Then 9 -8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1  
Family Activity
Who can jump the furthest, use some tape for lines.  Try it on one leg.

Sometimes we just need a little comfort food.  This is a family favorite for spaghetti and meatballs.  
Special Note
Ever been to Turtle Preserve in Old Saybrook?  I never knew it existed, it’s a beautiful spot to take your kids to explore outdoors and an easy trail walk.  Even the teenagers will like it as it is a great spot for some pictures.

Family Charades
Get up and move with a game of fitness charades. Pick some action activities such as rowing a boat, playing soccer, going flying a kite, shoveling snow, raking leaves. Use your imagination!
